Hunter of the North creates memorable experiences locally and serves true taste of Lapland. Local, pure food is very important to us and part of our daily lives. You could say that our grocery store is in the forests and hills nearby. Reindeer, game and fish products available in our webstore. Reindeer economy provides significant business in Muonio. Reindeer round-up are held in two seasons: in the summer the calfs born in the spring are marked within their mothers and in the autumn the reindeer used for meat are separated from the ones who will continue the generations. Have you thought how fish ends up into your plate? Muonio has good possibilities for fishing in the wintertime once the lakes are frozen. Winter nets are set under the ice and they are checked daily. Whitefish tastes mild and is suitable for many purposes, like done by the open fire. With us you can join this experience with a local fisherman.

Experience the unique nature of Lapland and learn about berries, mushrooms and reindeer year.

Lapland’s summer and autumn enable a long berry and mushroom picking season. On this excursion, we look for natural products from the nearby forests and use them to season our lunch. The starting point of the trip can be arranged so that it is easy to get there with your own car or, if necessary, we will arrange transportation from the surrounding area. We will walk around reindeer herder´s areas and at the end of the trip, lunch and coffee will be enjoyed.

Program suites all ages and does not demand strong physical activity. Warm clothes are not included, but usually needed for the experience. Included into the tour, three-course lunch made out of local produts is served; please let us know any diets or allergies.
